In turn, each player can: Add a tile to their City to complete an Architectural Challenge and win a Divine Altar. Contribute to the construction of the Capital by placing their tile in the center of the playing area, which will score points at the end of the game. At the end of the turn, a tile is drawn to ensure players always have 3 in hand. Architectural Challenges & Divine Altars Each completed Challenge allows a Divine Altar to be placed in the Capital. In this expansion, spaces function differently: for a Space to be counted at the end of the game, an Altar must be built there in honor of Hestia, Hermes, Ares, Zeus, or Demeter, depending on the Space's color. End of Game The game ends when all City tiles have been played. Only Capital Spaces adorned with a Divine Altar are valid and counted. Personal Cities do not award any points. The final score is compared to that of the chosen Scenario. Managing Stones, coordinating placements, and anticipating Challenges are essential for achieving collective victory.
Akropolis Athena is an expansion of the Akropolis base game, set in the Ancient Mediterranean where architects compete to build prestigious cities. The theme revolves around gaining the favor of Athena, the goddess of wisdom, war, and artisans, to earn riches and honor. In this game, players must use their skills to complete specific Construction cards by building layouts within their cities that match the cards. As players complete these cards, they can acquire parts of the Statue of Athena and gain Mini-tiles to enhance their cities. The goal is to strategically build your city while completing these Construction cards to gain additional points and advantages. The game integrates the core rules of the AKROPOLIS base game with the added challenge of completing Construction cards. Each architect can complete each Construction card only once and must manage their resources and placements carefully to maximize their points. The game concludes when there is only one tile left in the Construction Site and all the stacks have been used. Points are counted as usual, but players who have completed the Statue of Athena gain extra points for their Stones, adding a layer of strategic depth to the gameplay. The ultimate goal is to have the most prestigious city by the end of the game, as determined by the accumulated points.
Athena, goddess of wisdom and craft, casts her favour over your city in this expansion to Akropolis. Complete Construction cards matching specific tile layouts to claim pieces of her Statue and earn mini-tiles — and whoever completes the Statue gains bonus points for their Stones at game end.
